There are honestly many online art classes for kids but not all are created equal.
So, what does Sparketh have that makes it so good? We’re going to chat about that. We’ll cover what it is that Sparketh offers, their pricing, our personal experience with the program, and who I think it’s a great fit for.
So, let’s jump in and start discussing this homeschool art class option.

Sparketh Review: Online Art Classes for Kids
I have a budding artist. She’s been drawing, painting, and creating since the moment she possibly could.
I’ve known for years that I want to give her the opportunity to pursue and grow her talents, but I also know that I’m not equipped to do it myself.
As a homeschool mom, it can be easy to feel inadequate when it comes to catering to all the different needs and desires of our children. After all, we’re not going to be good at everything!
However, thankfully, we live in a world where other people share their talents and offer to teach those willing to learn.
Plus, there’s now the ability to do it all online! While the internet has significant flaws, one of the wonderful things about it is the opportunity to learn and access resources.
Sparketh is one such resource and so far I’ve been really impressed.

What is Offered With Their Online Art Classes for Kids

Sparketh is an online art learning platform that primarily caters to those from 6 to 18. They offer 1000s of art online classes covering just about anything you can imagine.
The videos are fun and engaging while also being educational and informative.
There are supply lists available and you can even request certain courses if there’s something specific you’d like to learn that’s not already on there.
The classes are taught by a variety of different artists which makes it really fun and engaging. Your child will get access to many different styles of art.
You can have your child sign up for specific classes or follow a track that will cover a specific topic over the course of several videos. These are known as tracks and are essentially art courses that are simply accessed via their online learning platform.
There are many options and a lot of variety.
You can choose classes based on age and skill level. The video tutorials are fantastic at teaching new skills and doing it in an easy-to-understand way. There are many new techniques that are taught through the classes. You absolutely won’t run out of classes for your child.
Advanced students and beginners alike will both find value in these homeschool online art classes.
Pricing

The pricing structure is simple. You can either pay $25 monthly and get access to everything, or pay $250 annually for the same.
Sparketh also offers a free art class for you to try first which is a great idea if you’re not sure it’s something you’d like to pay for just yet.
However, another option would be to just sign up for one month. You’ll still get unlimited access to all available courses and the same benefits as the annual subscription.
Both subscription options have the ability to have two separate student accounts. This is fantastic if you have more than one child wanting to do art classes. It’s especially great if they’re interested in different courses.

Our Experience

When I showed these classes to my daughter, she was thrilled. Now, in all transparency, she is younger than the suggested age range. However, she spends so much of her days creating art in some form or another, that I still knew it would be worth letting her have a go.
My son is 8 and enjoys some art but it definitely isn’t something he naturally flocks to.
Because Sparketh offers two separate student accounts I was able to set up accounts for both of my kids and sign up for classes that were of specific interest to each of them.
Formal art classes aren’t something that we are able to fit into our homeschool routine. Because of that, the classes offered by Sparketh are fantastic.
My Two Top Reasons
In our case, I like them for two reasons. The first is that they allow my art-loving child to further her talent in ways that I simply am not capable of teaching.
The second reason is exposure. It’s a really fun and low-pressure way of exposing my children to different art mediums and techniques without paying a fortune or even having to leave the house!
Our days are so very busy and I am always looking for ways to slow things down. While I definitely want my children to be able to pursue their interests and be exposed to different activities, I also don’t want to fill our days with busyness from dawn to dusk.
Sparketh provides exactly what we need in this season of life.
The website is very simple to use and the videos are high quality. We’ve had no issues finding art classes that my kids are interested in.
All children have a creative side so it’s great to be able to encourage that. Because there are so many different classes, it means that my kids both get to do what they enjoy and at their own pace.
Who is This Good For?

So, who is Sparketh a good fit for?
If the reasons I shared above resonate with you at all then I think it is well worth giving Sparketh a try. It’s a really fun way to learn art with the convenience of being able to do it at home.
While there are lots of online art classes for kids, Sparketh is very high quality.
If you’re looking for a variety of art styles and techniques, then Sparketh is a great option. There are definitely many different online art classes. However, a lot of them focus on specific art mediums or a specific style. With Sparketh the options seem endless!
Another thought is if you’re a busy mom homeschooling multiple children, this is a great way to lessen your workload a bit. Not every subject needs to be taught by you.
By using Sparketh your child can learn without you having to be there actually teaching. However, you’re still in control of the content and what it is that they’re learning.
It’s also a great option for families who perhaps can’t access an art teacher locally. Young artists will love having access to these online courses and being able to pursue their education all from the comfort of a kitchen table classroom.
Teaching Multiple Children
Another situation that Sparketh would work well for is for those with kids of all ages. It’s no secret that homeschool families usually have both young students and older students. Having different age groups to cater to can be challenging, but these homeschool online classes are fantastic for catering to the whole family. This saves both time and money.
So many of their fun projects are made using simple everyday objects that you will likely already have around the house. I personally love the idea that art skills can be learned without having to invest in really expensive equipment.

Final Thoughts
If you have a budding artist or perhaps just want to expose your children to different art techniques then Sparketh is well worth checking out.
Whether you take it month-by-month or choose the annual subscription, you’ll still get so much value out of it!
They have everything from animal drawing classes to honing artistic skills using oil pastels. Your child may have zero art experience and it won’t matter at all. You can find a list of online art classes that they offer on their website. Older children and young kids alike will be able to learn from their art educators and explore many different types of art.
You get to set the schedule and decide on the perfect time of day for the digital art classes to happen.
I think this is such a valuable resource for homeschool families. It will be a huge blessing to those wishing to have lots of fun making art. With new courses being added regularly Sparketh needs to be checked out! Take a look at their website and their online art classes for kids here.
