20 of the Best Spring Activities for Homeschool

Isn’t springtime just so much fun? As a homeschooler, it means lots of new learning opportunities.
In this post, I’ve shared 20 educational spring activities for your homeschool.
Many of them can be done all together as a family but there are some that you could set up for each child individually.
The first list covers all of the things that I could think of and then I’ve also included some fun craft and activity ideas from others as well.
Have fun!
- Go for a walk – once the weather is warm enough, it is a great idea to go outside for a walk. Make it a nature walk and bring journals along so that your children can have fun recording what they see.
- Draw flowers – You can do this activity with any age child and can get as creative as you want to. Use crayons, paint, chalk, or whatever else you’d like.
- Plant seeds – Teach your children how to plant seeds and then nurture them. You could go with flowers or perhaps start a veggie garden.
- Go bird-watching – You could do this in your back yard or at a park. Bring a pair of binoculars and a bird book so that your kids can really study the birds around them.
- Make a bird feeder – If you don’t have many birds in your garden then a great way to attract them would be with a bird feeder. Have your kids make one and then set it up together.
- Arrange flowers – This is another activity that would work well for any age. Give your children some flowers and let them arrange them. You could even look on Youtube for some instructional videos.
- Feed the birds – Go for a walk and take some seed with you. Or, you could have your kids do this in your back yard.
- Plan a picnic – Have your kids help pack all the food for the picnic. You could also have them plan out the meal as well.
- Press flowers – Such an old activity and yet it’s still lovely to see pressed flowers.
- Measure rainfall with a rain gauge – spring showers are the perfect time to focus on studying the weather. Grab a cheap rain gauge if you haven’t already got one and have your children keep track of the rainfall you get.
- Study clouds – Whether it’s in a textbook, a documentary or lying on the grass just looking up, studying the clouds is a wonderful activity to do during spring.
- Create a bucket list (grab a free one down below!) – Be intentional about getting fun things done together as a homeschool family this spring by creating your own bucket list.
