I have used a number of different homeschool planners over the years.
Planners can be tricky as we all have unique wants and desires when it comes to what they contain.
Personally, I don’t like to overcomplicate things.
I like my planner to be pretty, but not overwhelming. I like there to be structure but also room for me to personalize it a bit.
There are planner options out there (such as the Plum Paper Planner) which give you many options to customize, but they’re pricey.

This year, I decided to finally go ahead and create my own printable homeschool planner.

I was able to create and customize each page to be exactly what I wanted it to be.
While I primarily created it to be a tool that I love, I also included pages that I know many other homeschool moms rely on heavily.
The beauty of this planner is that it can be organized to suit you personally, plus, it’s affordable!
What Is Included
When it came to deciding what I wanted in my planner, there were some pages that I absolutely had to have:
- 2-page weekly layout
- monthly calendar
- checklists
- year at a glance
- pretty monthly title pages
Not much, right? I honestly don’t use a whole lot when it comes to planning, so those pages suit me just fine.
However, I knew there would be some pages that other homeschool moms would love to have as well as a couple I wanted to try out.
These include:
- book list
- monthly overview
- monthly reflection
- curriculum planning
- future curriculum planning
- attendance record
- dot grid page
This is the first time I’ve created my own planner, so in years to come I will likely add to this, but for now, I feel as though it’s a good start.
This planner is an un-dated version, but I also have plans to have a dated version released towards the end of 2024.

How I Use My Planner
How I use this planner will be the same way I used my previous ones.
I tend to plan out a term at a time and I do that in a google doc. I print that out and transfer the information into my planner each week. It gives me some structure but allows for flexibility when things come up.
The other section that I use is the checklists section. This is where I list out all the lesson numbers for each subject.
As we complete them, I use a highlighter to wipe over the numbers. It’s a great way to see at a glance how we’re tracking throughout the year.
I do also use my planner to cover work and home.
The top four rows of the weekly spread are dedicated to homeschooling, but the bottom three rows are for home, work, and meals.
I personally like to have everything all in one place.
Final Thoughts
Now that I’ve managed to get this completed, I’m excited about the possibilities that it could have. I’m sure I’ll come up with a few different variations over the years.
