While we can read those as a list it’s also really important to know how we get these gifts. They are a result of salvation through Christ Jesus.
Before a child is born again through Christ, teaching them the fruits of the Spirit is more of a lesson on how it is that we can never live up to the perfection that is required to enter heaven.
When we make the decision to accept Christ into our hearts that is when we are granted access to these fruits.
They are made manifest when we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.
Essentially, we’re told to “quench not the spirit of God” so that these fruits can grow in our lives.
We have access to them if only we allow God to be the ruler of our hearts and not our own carnal nature.
How to Teach Children the Fruits of the Spirit
So, how do you introduce such a complex topic to children?
It isn’t as difficult as it might seem. I would suggest keeping it simple.
