Our Experience
My children are all still quite young with my eldest being not quite 7-years old yet. However, my son did spend a lot of time playing with the app, specifically the STEAM Valley section.
He loved the idea of growing the town and learning along the way. The videos were really engaging for him and overall, he enjoyed it a lot.
I did have to be present to help him as he isn’t yet a fluent reader and there was no audio option (something to keep in mind if you’re in the same scenario).
He certainly learned a lot but did find it a bit advanced after a while. However, he was still able to grow his town and that was what he really enjoyed.
The graphics and videos were well done and the text was generally easy to read.
Who Is This For?
If you’re looking for an easy no-prep way of teaching STEAM to your child, then this app is worth looking at.
I would recommend it to parents who have children at least 9 years of age as the material is more advanced and requires that your child can read fairly fluently.
If you are a family who does limited screen time and is looking for a learning-based way to go about that, this could be worth checking out.
